NCS Spoils FRA’s Homecoming

Last week the Eagles faced FRA. The odds were in FRA’s favor, but the Eagles had none of that.

There wasn’t much clicking for both teams in the first half as the score was 7-6 in favor of FRA heading into halftime.

In the second of half the points started coming as the Eagles scored 19 in the half. The defense made a big fourth down stop, giving the Eagles a big road 25-22 win over the Panthers.

The Eagles defense had a great night as it seemed like every time FRA snapped it they were in the backfield. Brant Lawless recorded two sacks and eight tackles. Jesse Watson and Bobby Clark played good coverage on FRA’s star wide receiver Lance Wilhoite—holding him to only 1 TD.

The Eagles offense started off  slow but ended up doing what they always do best and that is running the ball. Junior Xavier Myers had another 200 yard performance. Myers has had 200 yards every game he’s played this year. The star running back finished with 22 carries for 220 yards and 4 TD.  Myers now has 1,138 yards on the season.

Your Eagles are back home for their next game on Friday Sep. 29 as they celebrate homecoming and face Rossville Christian. This game might be a one sided game as Rossville hasn’t won a game all year (0-6). The Eagles will have a bye week the following week.
