Last Friday was the first round of the playoffs and the Eagles had a bye. The Eagles had to wait for the winner of The King’s Academy vs Clarksville Academy game. King’s Academy was the 3 seed, Clarksville Academy was the 6 seed.
King’s Academy dominated from the start scoring 42 in the first half. The final scoring ended up being 62-14.
The Eagles played Clarksville a couple of weeks ago and that game ended with about the same result 66-14.
The Eagles will face King’s Academy in the 2nd round of the playoffs. King’s Academy is 8-3 on the year; NCS is 7-3. King’s losses came from Greenback, Friendship Christian and Donelson Christian. NCS losses came from Columbia Academy, BGA and Davidson Academy.
King’s Academy will have to stop Xavier Myers and The Eagles offense. The Eagles are averaging 257.7 rushing yards a game and averaging 97.7 yards passing a game. The Eagles average 355 yards a game and scoring 38 points a game.
Xavier also won Titan player of week last week. Myers is averaging 241 yards a game. Myers dropped down to 2nd in the state in rushing because he hasn’t played a playoff game yet.
The game Friday will be at Nashville Christian at 7 pm. The winner of the game will play either #1 Friendship Christian (10-0) or #5 Middle Tennessee Christian (7-4).
The Eagles rushing game will be the key to victory vs King’s. If they get the running game gets going early, and defense is making stops and 3-and-outs it could get ugly quick. Tickets to the game are 8 dollars, game is at 7 pm.
