Last Friday night was senior night for the football players. This was a game they won’t forget, as the Eagles poured it on Clarksville Academy scoring 47 points in the first half. The halftime score was 47-7. All the senior football players got a lot of playing time since it would be their last regular season home football game—and they finished off strong with a 66-14 win.
A lot of scoring came from the seniors.Jesse Watson had a great night as he returned a punt for 70 yards for a touchdown and also ran back two kickoffs for touchdowns. Watson had 287 all purpose yards. Another senior Bobby Bowling, also returned a punt back for a TD and a 60 yard catch for a TD. Senior QB Chad Kinnard was 4 for 5, 145 yards and 2 TD, one to senior Will Irwin.
We can’t forget about star running back Xavier Myers (JR). Myers had a short but great night. Myers finished with 8 carries for 123 yards and 3 TD. Myers still is leading the state in rushing with 1785 yards. Myers needs 215 yards to be 2000 yard rusher.
The Eagles are headed out on the road again to Millington, TN to face Tipton Rosemark. This a huge game for both teams as this game with determine who is the 2nd seed in our district. Tipton has a record of 7-2, with losses from Davidson, and Fayette Academy. According to the weather it’s supposed to be a rainy and cold game—that will help the Eagles because they are a very good running game. The game will start at 7.
Shoutout to our former player and student Daniel Bituli with a pick 6 against Alabama.
