Predators 3 Blackhawks 0


The Nashville Predators have surprisingly won all three match ups against the Chicago Blackhawks to make it a 3-0 lead in the best of 7 series.

In game 1, the preds scored early with a Viktor Arvidsson deflection goal. Then in the second period the Hawks had their chances, but Pekka Rinne was solid in net. In the third period, the predators held on to a 1 point lead and beat the Blackhawks 1-0.

In the second game the preds struck early with a slap shot by Ryan Ellis. In the second period, Harry Zolnierczyk had a breakaway and beat Corey Crawford to make it 2-0. Later in the second, Craig Smith made a great spin move to the net and set it up perfectly for Colton Sissons to poke it in the net. Going into the third the preds had a 3-0 lead and Chicago threatened again, but Rinne held strong and didn’t let one in. Then Ryan Johansen broke to the net and put another one past Crawford to make it 4-0. Then in the last 2 minutes of the game, Kevin Fiala had a great shot that went past Crawford to make it 5-0.

They headed back to Nashville up 2-0 in the series. Monday night was an exiting night at Bridgestone Arena when the Preds took the ice. In the first period the predators had some great chances but didn’t score due to the solid goaltending by Corey Crawford. In the second the Blackhawks struck twice thanks to a tip in by Dennis Rasmussen and a snipe on the power play by Patrick Kane. Then in the third, Filip Forsberg struck twice to tie it at 2. The game then went into overtime and it was scoreless for 17 minutes until James Neal made a great pass to Kevin Fiala and he made a good move to score the game winning goal to lift the predators to a 3-0 series lead.

The Predators can win the series on Thursday night at home and it will be a wild crowd in Nashville.
