The best moment of the school year is one that is ultimately defined by you, but in this instance there is one moment that really captures the excitement that this school year brought. After asking a numerous amount of students what their favorite memory from this school year was, there was one clear and dominant answer: The football team beating Ensworth in OT.

The Nashville Christian Football team started off their first home game of the season by playing Ensworth High School on August 29th. Most people would probably admit that they didn’t expect us to beat Ensworth, but the team really showed up that night and dominated. It was really special because it got everyone super excited for what the rest of the season had in store.

Winning this game was pretty much everyone’s answer when I asked them. It was such a nail-biting and satisfying moment for everyone, which is why I think it is so easily favored as the best moment. I found it interesting that the best moment wasn’t winning the State Championship, but they reassured me that it came in as a close second.

I went around the school asking students and teachers some words to describe this moment and here were amongst the most popular:

There are so many more words to capture this moment like electrifying, thrilling, unforgettable, nail-biter, and eruptive.

Colin Romero (JR), a player of the team, says, “Honestly, I was so tired, but I was so proud of the team.”

It was a moment that no one will ever forget. People were truly on the edge of their seats or eagerly standing up as we pushed for that last touchdown. That feeling of anxiousness and excitement all happening so fast gave people such a rush of adrenaline that truly makes it such a core memory of the 2025-2026 school year. When you think of this year, what memory comes to your mind?
