Everybody knows that Cuba and the U.S. aren’t exactly on the best of terms. However, a meeting just a few days ago on the sidelines of the Summit of the Americas may change that.
President Barack Obama met with Raul Castro to try and get our countries into a bit of a better standing with each other—and the results were actually much better than anyone thought could get done in one day.
Thanks to the whole Cold War debacle, we stopped all trade with Cuba more than 50 years ago, but after this meeting trade with Cuba doesn’t look too far off. But, the biggest obstacle still remains: Cuba’s place on list of countries that sponsor terror.
Though, thanks to this meeting, this status is currently under review. So, we may be able to even go there for vacations soon enough—but I wouldn’t count on it this year.
