You know what’s better than coffee? Coffee in space. Apparently the next time the International Space Station gets more supplies they are getting an authentic espresso machine straight out of Italy.
The crew is scheduled to get a 4000 pound shipment of food and other equipment on Monday afternoon from a SpaceX delivery. The espresso machine is intended for International Space Station astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti of Italy.
The espresso machine was supposed to arrive on the station in January, but it was delayed by a launch explosion. So miss Samantha will have to settle with the ships instant coffee in zero gravity for now, while we settle for instant coffee in regular gravity.
The espresso machine has been lovingly dubbed the “ISSpresso machine.” And I will admit, I am a little jealous of their coffee in space.
