Some of the Best Video Games of 2015

During these past 10 months of 2015, major video game companies such as Treyarch, NetherRealm Studios, and Nintendo, have developed better and better video games throughout the year. Even though each company has made many, many great titles in 2015, some of them are greater than others and have definitely caught peoples’ attention.

Mortal Kombat X, released in mid April, was a big hit for the gaming community. The series continues with the tenth Mortal Kombat, where the blood, violence, and gore is better than ever. MKX recently released one of their downloadable content packs, where players can now fight as  the ‘80s horror movie character, Jason Voorhees. I mean, who wouldn’t want to play as a man wearing a hockey mask holding a machete?

Grand Theft Auto V also released in mid April for the PC. After waiting 2 years and only being available for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, the PC master race finally got their prayers answered, and were finally able to play the havoc causing, car stealing game, making sales for Rockstar skyrocket.

The Witcher 3 was a fan favorite as well. This third person action game was released a few months ago back in May, by the Polish gaming company CD Projekt RED. The action packed game was said to take around 100 hours to complete: 50 of those hours set aside for side quests, and the other 50 for the story itself. Seems like a lot of time to complete, but can easily be beaten in a couple weeks, depending on how serious of a gamer the player is.

One of the coolest games recently released was Super Mario Maker for the Wii U. Just a couple months ago in September, Nintendo released a brand new gaming experience for the Mario lovers. In this game, players can actually make their own Super Mario level, with working power ups, bricks, enemies, etc.. By the end of September, Nintendo had sold almost 2 million copies of Super Mario Maker in less than a month.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 was just released worldwide on November 6th. After the Call of Duty gaming community having a quite large debate on whether World At War 2 or Black Ops 3 should be released, Treyarch decided to bring back the Black Ops series and make a third one. The first-person shooting game was especially popular, considering basically every special edition version of the game was sold out quickly, and midnight release lines were packed.

Other notable, future releases that people are excited for are Fallout 4 (releasing November 10),  Star Wars Battlefront (November 17), Rainbow Six Siege  and Just Cause 3 (December 1), and many more in 2016.
