District Tournament Champions


The Nashville Christian Boys Basketball Team defeated the Lead Academy Panthers to win the 2016 10A District Tournament. First round, the Eagles faced the Red Devils from Jo Byrns, which resulted in an 83-47 victory for NCS. 12 Eagles scored, led by Daniel Bituli with 19 and Zell Walker with 16. The Eagles were all smiles after the game, but they knew they still had work to do.

Next round, NCS faced East Robertson. The Indians won the last matchup with the Eagles by 1 point 3 weeks earlier. NCS would not be denied this time. Three Eagles scored in double figures, 15 from Zell Walker, 14 from Brant Lawless, and 11 points from Jacob Ogle. The Eagles held off the Indians late to win the game 64-58. This set up the Eagles to face Lead Academy, who had won both match ups this season by a combined 52 points. This time, things were different. Nashville Christian trailed by 12 early in the first half, but the Eagles fought back. Nashville Christian went on to take the lead early in the 4th quarter and never looked back. The Eagles won this one 61-53, led by Zell Walker, Daniel Bituli, and Brant Lawless again,

The Eagles will go on the play this Saturday, February 27, at home against either Fayetteville or Middle Tennessee Christian. The Eagles are 2 wins away from advancing to the sub state round for the 2nd year in a row.
