The Nashville Predators, coming off a historic run last year making it farther than they ever have in the playoffs return this year as the team to win it all.
The season starting off slow due to the fact that they only seem to win at home. Coming from a season ticket holder, having an 8-1-1 home record isn’t the worst thing, but winning home and away games are key to having a great season.
Nashville winning only 3 of its last 12 away games is scary considering that the Predators could not win in San Jose during the playoffs last year—the reason they were eliminated from the playoffs. The Preds recently have started to pick up their game with a win against the struggling Colorado Avalanche at the Pepsi Center giving Nashville a much needed two points in division play.
The Predators return Saturday with back to back games at home over the weekend playing the New Jersey Devils and finishing on Sunday with the Flyers. Wins against these two teams would be great for Nashville that is currently tied with Minnesota in points.
Players this year are stepping up as Viktor Arvidsson who has 13 points (6g-7a) in 20 games. James Neal who leads the Preds in scoring with 10 goals and Ryan Johansen (5g-11a) tied for most points with Filip Forsberg(2g-14a).
This promising year is getting better for Nashville, but we still have the second half of the year to play. And with the team from Chicago doing what they usually do sitting on top of the division we must get ready for a great but hard fought year. I feel like this Nashville team is strong and this year’s playoffs are going to be quite interesting I just can’t wait to see what happens.
