NCS Marches Over Zion

Xavier Myers, junior, watches his team mates line up for the next play against Zion Christian.

Last Friday, NCS traveled  to Columbia once again, but this time they faced Zion Christian.  NCS proved they were the better team, scoring 26 points in the first quarter. By halftime the score was 40-6. NCS won the game 46-6.

The Eagles showed what their offense is capable of in this game. The Eagles put up a total of 526 yards, a season high. The defense shut down Zion holding them only to 6 points. Leading tackler for that game Jesse Parrish had 9 tackles, with 2.5 tackles for loss.

Xavier Myers once again really looked good with 13 carries for 239 yards and 4 TD’s. Myers averaged 18 yards a carry. On the season he is averaging 230 yards a game. He continues to be the X-Factor of the offense.

The Eagles will look forward to their first home game this season as they face Jackson Christian on Friday Sep. 15. Jackson Christian is also 2-2 (0-1 district), with their losses coming against Trinity Christian and Davidson Academy.

This will be a big district game for both teams. If NCS wins, this will be their 3 straight district win and will continue the winning streak.
